The border of the lips, the body of each lip and the corners of the mouth take filler in different ways, so lip filler in Seoul starts by deciding where volume belongs. Pixelab Beauty Clinic prices lip filler per 1 cc across four product pairs, and swelling or bruising can last 1 to 2 weeks while a same-day flight home stays possible.

Who lip filler suits, and when to hold off

Lip filler is a gel injected into the lips to add volume, sharpen the outline or even out the two sides. It changes soft tissue only. The shape of the teeth and jaw behind the lips stays as it is, and a lip that looks small because of a short upper jaw or a deep bite will look different after filler without being fully corrected.

The amount of change also has a natural limit. Lips stretch to hold volume, and a large jump in a single visit tends to look heavy and can spread past the border. Building up over two visits is one way to reach a clear change.

Some situations are reasons to wait. A cold sore near the lips can flare after needles pass through the area, and an injection into inflamed or broken skin raises the chance of infection. Blood thinners and some supplements make bruising worse, so list everything you take before the session.

Usually a good fit

  • Thin lips or lips that have lost volume with age
  • Upper and lower lips that look out of balance
  • A faint lip border or a flat Cupid's bow
  • Slight differences between the left and right sides
  • Earlier filler you want reshaped or dissolved

We may suggest waiting

  • Cold sore outbreak or broken skin on the lips
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Past allergic reaction to a filler
  • Bleeding disorder or blood thinners not yet discussed
  • Hoping for a large change in a single visit

How it works

How lip filler is planned and placed

Hyaluronic acid filler is the standard material for lips. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule found naturally in skin that binds water, and as a filler it is cross-linked into a gel so that it stays in place for months. A meta-analysis of hyaluronic acid lip augmentation found that lip volume rose for at least 6 months, with mostly mild to moderate side effects and a small number of serious events reported (Czumbel, 2021). Two randomized trials of specific hyaluronic acid lip products also report lasting improvement (Weiss, 2021; Wang, 2025); those were different products and serve here as background on the material.

What Korean-style lips means as a design direction

Korean-style lips is a design direction more than a technique. It favors soft, rounded fullness concentrated in the middle of the lips, a lower lip slightly fuller than the upper, and an outline that stays close to your natural border. The goal is lips that match the proportions of the face, so the plan looks at the nose, chin and the width of your smile together with the lips themselves.

Where filler goes in the lips

The lip has three zones that respond to filler in their own way. The vermilion border, the edge where lip meets skin, defines outline and the Cupid's bow. The body of the lip carries volume and projection. The corners and the philtral columns, the two ridges above the upper lip, are small detail areas. Small amounts are placed in each zone in turn, and the shape is checked from the front and the side before more is added.

Safe placement depends on anatomy. The labial arteries run through the lips themselves, and the lips are listed among the facial danger zones where injecting into a vessel can block blood flow (Scheuer, 2017). Slow, low-pressure injection and close watching of skin color during the session are the standard precautions.

The four product pairs on the price list

Face filler at the clinic is sold as four product pairs, each charged per 1 cc. Three pairs carry the note "retouch available"; Rejuviel or Youthfill is marked "no retouch". Which pair suits your lips depends on how firm or soft the gel needs to be for border work or for volume.

1

Lip design

At consultation

Proportions, upper-to-lower balance, outline and symmetry are assessed and marked.

2

Product and volume

A product pair and an amount in cc are agreed for your lips.

3

Numbing cream

Numbing cream is applied to the lips before any injection.

4

Injection in stages

Small amounts go into the border, body and corners in turn, with skin color watched throughout.

5

Shape check

The result is checked sitting up, and aftercare and warning signs are covered before you leave.

Prices

Lip Filler Cost in South Korea

Lip filler is charged for each 1 cc of gel. The price of a session therefore depends on two choices: the product pair and the number of cc your design needs. Two products share each price, so asking for a brand you already know from home does not change the rate within its pair.

Each figure on the cards is the amount before VAT, which is 10% in Korea and added at payment; the VAT-inclusive amount sits on the same card. Dissolving has two separate lines. One applies to filler placed at this clinic, and a slightly higher one applies to filler placed at another clinic, where the product used may be unknown.

A written quote that names the product pair, the cc planned and any retouch terms lets you see the full lip filler total before you commit to flights.

Safety

Lip filler risks and warning signs

Lips are soft, mobile and rich in blood vessels, which shapes both the short-term reactions and the rare serious risks:

  • Swelling and bruising, which the clinic expects to last 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Tenderness, and small lumps that can be felt along the injection lines.
  • Asymmetry or filler that spreads past the lip border, which may need adjustment or dissolving.
  • A cold sore flare in people who carry the herpes simplex virus.
  • Infection, or a delayed inflammatory reaction weeks to months later.
  • Blocked blood flow if filler enters or presses on a lip artery, which can damage the skin if untreated.
  • Very rarely, vision problems when filler travels through facial arteries.

Blocked blood flow is the emergency to know about. Skin that turns pale, white or dusky purple, pain that keeps rising, or a mottled pattern spreading from the lips are warning signs, and so is any change in vision. Contact the clinic immediately if you notice them, because hyaluronidase can dissolve hyaluronic acid filler and early treatment matters. Knowing where vessels run in the face is what lowers this risk in the first place (Scheuer, 2017).

The before-and-after photos on this page were taken at the clinic. Lip shape after filler depends on your anatomy and the amount used, so results vary from person to person.

FAQ

Lip filler questions from visitors

How long does lip swelling last after filler?

Swelling and bruising can last 1 to 2 weeks, according to the clinic. Lips swell more than most areas because the tissue is soft and well supplied with blood. A cold compress helps in the first hours, and any pale, white or dusky patch on the lips needs the clinic straight away.

When can I take my flight home after lip filler?

The same day is possible, according to the clinic. Lips may feel tight on a long flight while swelling is at its peak, so drink water, skip alcohol on board and avoid pressing on them. A review 2 to 4 weeks later is only booked if needed, which makes a short trip workable.

How many months does lip filler keep its shape?

The clinic gives a general range of 6 to 18 months, depending on the product and the area. Lips move constantly when you talk and eat, which breaks gel down sooner than in a still area. The filler fades gradually, and a top-up can restore the shape when you choose.

What does Korean-style lip filler mean?

It describes a look: soft, rounded fullness centered in the middle of the lips, a lower lip slightly fuller than the upper, and an outline kept close to the natural border. It is a design direction for your proportions, so it can be adjusted to look subtler or fuller.

How much does lip filler cost in Korea?

It is charged per 1 cc. The lowest-priced pair, Rejuviel or Youthfill, is ₩159,000 + VAT per 1 cc, and Amalian or Perfecta is ₩220,000 + VAT. The session total is the per-cc price of your chosen pair multiplied by the cc your lip design uses.

Can lip filler be dissolved if I do not like it?

Yes, hyaluronic acid filler can be broken down with hyaluronidase, an enzyme. Dissolving is ₩150,000 + VAT, and filler placed somewhere else is dissolved at ₩200,000 + VAT. Bring the product name if you know it, and mention any allergies first.

Does lip filler hurt?

Numbing cream is applied before the injections. Lips are sensitive, so pressure and a sharp feeling at each point are still possible, and they feel sore and tight for a while afterward. Tell the clinic if numbing creams have irritated your skin before.

Is the doctor a plastic surgeon?

Yes. Dr. Jongkeun Song is a Korean board-certified plastic surgeon and the Medical Director of Pixelab Beauty Clinic. Plastic surgery training covers facial anatomy and the blood supply of the lips, which is what safe lip injection depends on. Dr. Song completed residency at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, The Catholic University of Korea.

Are lip filler prices listed with or without VAT?

Without VAT. As an example, 1 cc of Restylane or Juvederm is ₩450,000, which comes to ₩495,000 once the 10% VAT is added at payment. Ask for the cc and retouch terms on your quote.

Will someone speak English during my lip filler appointment?

Yes. An English interpreter works at the clinic, so the design talk and aftercare can be done in English. You can also send photos of your lips and a reference image on WhatsApp in English before you book, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Do I pay a deposit to book lip filler, and can I cancel?

Deposit and cancellation terms are not printed on this page. Ask for them in writing together with your lip filler quote before you pay, and confirm what happens to any payment if your trip dates shift.
