Enlarged pores, a shiny T-zone and fine crepey texture are what skin botox in Korea is aimed at, using tiny droplets of diluted botulinum toxin placed in the skin itself. At Pixelab Beauty Clinic the treatment is listed as Dermotoxin and priced per 2 cc in three toxin lines, and a flight home on the same day is possible.

Is it for you?

Who Dermotoxin suits, and when to hold off

Classic toxin injections go into a muscle to stop it creasing the skin. Skin botox works one layer higher. Very small amounts of diluted toxin are spread across the dermis in a grid of shallow points, so the target becomes the oil glands, sweat glands and the tiny muscle fibers attached to hair follicles. You will also see it called microbotox, mesobotox or intradermal toxin; Dermotoxin is the name on the clinic's price list.

The people who ask for it describe a texture problem. Pores that look stretched on the cheeks and nose, skin that turns glossy by early afternoon, or a fine crinkled look on the lower cheeks are what bring people to ask about it. Deep folds and loose jowls are different problems that a shallow injection cannot reach.

A toxin is still a medicine, even in diluted form. The conditions in the right-hand list are reasons to wait or to choose something else, and anyone taking regular medication should name it before booking.

How it works

How Dermotoxin microdroplets work in the skin

Dermotoxin is a microdroplet technique: botulinum toxin type A is diluted further than for muscle treatment and injected just under the surface in many small, evenly spaced points. Placed at that depth, the toxin acts on the nerve signals that drive sweat glands and the arrector pili, the small muscles at each follicle, and it is thought to reduce how much oil the glands release. The surface muscles of expression take up less of it when the droplets stay shallow and spread out.

The research on this use is promising and still thin. In a split-face controlled study, intradermal toxin reduced oiliness and the look of enlarged pores, and the effect lasted about four months on average (Sayed, 2020). An earlier study of forehead injections measured a clear drop in sebum output and asked for larger placebo-controlled trials (Rose, 2013). A 2024 meta-analysis pooling 153 patients found positive results across several skin-quality measures while stating that firm conclusions need higher-quality studies (Rahman, 2024). An expert roundtable on microdose toxin for pores, laxity, sebum and scars reported high satisfaction in selected patients, which is expert opinion and sits at the lowest level of evidence (Fabi, 2023).

On safety, a systematic review of aesthetic botulinum toxin A treatment found short-term safety across the three commercial products it covered (Cavallini, 2014). That review is about toxin use in general and does not single out the microdroplet method.

The price list offers Dermotoxin in three toxin lines: a Korean-made botulinum toxin, Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) and Allergan's onabotulinumtoxinA, the product sold under the Botox name. Each line is a separate item with its own price. Only the Allergan line is the Botox brand; skin botox is simply the common name for the technique.

Prices

Skin Botox Cost in South Korea

Dermotoxin is sold by volume. Each line on the price list is a 2 cc preparation of diluted toxin, and the toxin you choose sets the price, so the three cards below differ by brand alone. The Korean toxin line, for example, starts at ₩200,000 + VAT.

Amounts are shown before VAT. Korea adds 10% VAT at checkout, and the VAT-inclusive total appears on each card beneath the base figure. If you are pairing skin botox with another item from the price list on the same trip, ask for one itemized quote that shows each line with its brand, so the final bill holds no surprises at the desk.

Recovery

What the days after skin botox look like

Injection day

Raised bumps and pinpoint redness at the points; flying home is possible

Following days

Bumps flatten and redness fades over a few days; a bruise can take a little longer

Following weeks

Shine and pore look change gradually; avoid rubbing or massaging the area early on

Months 2–4

The effect wears off gradually; book the next session about 3–4 months after this one

Safety

Dermotoxin side effects and limits

Spreading toxin across the dermis carries a small set of known effects:

  • Raised bumps, pinpoint redness and bruises at the injection points for a few days.
  • Tenderness or a tight feeling in the treated skin.
  • Weakness in a nearby muscle if toxin reaches it, which can make a smile or other expression look uneven until it wears off.
  • Headache after treatment.
  • Allergic reaction to the toxin or its ingredients.
  • A smaller change than hoped, or none you can see, since response differs between people.

The evidence base is small. The studies behind skin botox involve modest numbers of patients and short follow-up, and the reviews themselves ask for better trials. The effect is temporary by design, so any improvement in shine or pores fades within months.

Message the clinic straight away if you notice drooping, difficulty swallowing or speaking, spreading swelling or signs of infection such as heat and pus.

FAQ

Skin botox questions from overseas visitors

What does skin botox do for pores?

It can make pores look smaller by calming oil output and relaxing the tiny muscles around each follicle. Diluted toxin is injected into the skin in many shallow points. A split-face study found less oiliness and smaller-looking pores for about four months, though the research remains small.

How long does skin botox (Dermotoxin) last?

According to the clinic, the effect generally lasts 2 to 4 months and varies from person to person. Sessions are spaced about 3 to 4 months apart for anyone who wants to keep it up. Oil returns gradually as the toxin wears off.

Is Dermotoxin the same thing as Botox?

Dermotoxin is the name of the technique on the price list. Botox is Allergan's brand of botulinum toxin, and it is one of three toxin lines offered for Dermotoxin, alongside a Korean-made toxin and Xeomin. Each line has its own price.

Which toxin should I choose for skin botox?

Any of the three lines can be used: a Korean-made toxin, Xeomin or Allergan. They share the same active type, botulinum toxin type A, and units do not convert one to one between brands. Price is the main practical difference, and each line is shown on its own card.

What is the downtime after skin botox?

Small raised bumps, redness or a bruise can show for a few days, according to the clinic. The number of injection points, how easily you bruise and any blood-thinning medicine all affect how visible this is, so leave a few days before photos or events.

Can I fly home on the day of my skin botox?

Yes. The clinic states that a same-day flight is possible after Dermotoxin. Because the change builds over the following weeks, a short trip is enough for the injection itself. Plan your stay around any other treatments you are combining it with.

Does skin botox hurt?

Numbing cream goes on first. Each point still gives a quick sting, and the cheeks and nose can feel more sensitive than the forehead because there are many points in a small area. Tell the clinic in advance if numbing creams have irritated your skin before.

Does skin botox help with flushing or redness?

The studies cited on this page measured oil, pores and skin quality, and none of them tested flushing. Some people with redness ask about microbotox, yet no change in redness can be promised. Describe your redness and any diagnosis such as rosacea when you send your enquiry.

Who is the doctor at the clinic?

Pixelab Beauty Clinic is led by Dr. Jongkeun Song, a Korean board-certified plastic surgeon and the clinic's Medical Director. Facial anatomy, including the layers of skin and the muscles beneath them, is part of plastic surgery training, which matters when toxin is kept shallow.

Are skin botox prices shown before or after VAT?

Before VAT. Korea's 10% VAT is added when you pay, so Dermotoxin with the Korean toxin at ₩200,000 totals ₩220,000. Xeomin and Allergan lines carry their own base and VAT-inclusive figures.

Can I ask about skin botox in English?

Yes. The clinic has an English interpreter, and you can message us on WhatsApp in English before you travel to ask about areas, toxin lines and timing. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

Is there a deposit, and can I cancel?

The deposit and cancellation terms are not listed on this website. Before sending any money, request them in writing along with your itemized quote, and ask what would be refunded if your flight changes or you decide not to go ahead.
