Focused ultrasound heats tissue beneath the surface, and the firmness that follows comes from collagen remodeling over weeks. That suits the early stage of laxity, when the jawline has started to soften and the cheeks sit a little lower, while the skin still has enough thickness and fat to respond. A prospective study of ultrasound tightening found it safe in selected people with mild sagging and no loss of facial volume (Friedman, 2020).

It has limits that the reasons to wait reflect. Heavy folds of loose skin need lifting that heat alone cannot supply, and a very lean face can look hollower if fat under the skin shrinks. Healing skin, infection and pregnancy are reasons to delay until things settle.

Shurink Universe is a high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) system made by Classys. Each cartridge holds a transducer that converges ultrasound onto a point at a set depth, much as a lens gathers light, so heat builds at that point and the surface above stays comparatively cool. One shot lays a row of these tiny heated points. Histology in Asian skin after focused ultrasound showed more dermal collagen and better-aligned elastic fibers, a finding from a different device that explains the principle (Suh, 2011).

Depth is changed by swapping cartridges. Deeper cartridges reach the SMAS, the fibrous sheet that holds facial fat and muscle in place and the layer a surgical facelift tightens, while shallower ones heat the dermis. A slim pen-type cartridge is made for curves around the eyes and mouth, where a flat cartridge sits poorly. The shot total is then divided between zones according to how many passes each receives.

On the clinic's price list Shurink Universe shares a row with LinearZ, a HIFU device from Jeisys Medical with dot and linear delivery modes. Both carry the same shot prices, and your quote should say which device your plan uses.

The evidence behind ultrasound tightening is moderate in size. A systematic review reported improvement in laxity without surface injury, adding that the included studies were of limited quality (Khan, 2021). That review covers focused ultrasound as a class, and none of the studies cited on this page was run on Shurink Universe itself.

Shurink Universe is priced by the shot, and the same price row covers LinearZ. A shot is one firing of a cartridge, so the plan size reflects how much of the face is treated and how densely: a 100-shot plan holds a small amount of treatment, and the larger plans spread across more zones or add passes.

All four plans are list prices before tax. The 10% VAT is charged on top when you pay, and each card shows the pre-tax figure with the tax-inclusive amount beneath it. The clinic's guide gives numbing cream for this treatment; local anesthesia and IV sedation appear elsewhere on the price list as separate items, so any extra would show as its own line on your quote.

Focused ultrasound places its heat below the surface, so reactions tend to show as soreness and swelling instead of visible wounds.

A case series with a literature review found that serious reactions to focused ultrasound can occur and may be underreported, and it described early care with wound management, topical steroids and pulsed dye laser (Friedmann, 2017).
