A fat dissolving injection works only on fat that sits under the skin and can be pinched between two fingers. Fullness along the jaw can come from three different sources: a pad of fat, a thick masseter muscle, or skin that has started to loosen with age. Only the first one responds to an injection. Telling them apart is the first job of the visit, because a chin that looks heavy because of loose skin will look the same, or looser, once fat beneath it shrinks (Shridharani, 2024).

On the body, the same idea applies to a soft roll above the waistband, the back of the upper arm or the inner thigh. A lipolytic injection treats a defined pocket. It does not change body weight, and large areas of deep fat are a different problem from a small, stubborn bulge.

Red is the only HaruFit type with a steroid in it. If you have been told to avoid steroids, or you simply prefer not to have one, Light, Green and Purple are listed as steroid-free.

HaruFit is a lipolytic injection, a solution placed directly into the fat layer to break down fat cells there. Lipolytic agents act on the membrane of the fat cell; once a cell is damaged, the body clears it away slowly through its normal inflammatory and clean-up process. Researchers still describe the exact mechanism as incompletely understood, and stress that knowing the anatomy of the area is the basis for injecting it safely (Park, 2024).

The most studied substance in this group is deoxycholic acid. In a phase 3 trial, a deoxycholic acid injection reduced fat under the chin compared with placebo (Jones, 2016). Those results belong to that drug. Whether any HaruFit type shares its formula has not been confirmed, so the trial explains the principle and says nothing about how HaruFit itself performs.

Four HaruFit types on the price list

The four types differ in what goes into the vial. Red is the type that contains a steroid, and the clinic presents it as its strong option. Green carries no steroid and is described as the gentler choice. Purple is listed as steroid-free with BellaCollin, and the clinic calls it its premium formula built on DCA, short for deoxycholic acid. Light is steroid-free and sits at the entry level of the price list. Each type has a face price and a lower body price, both for every 10 cc.

A steroid is relevant because it calms inflammation, and swelling after a fat dissolving injection is itself an inflammatory response. That is one reason the steroid content of Red is stated on every price line and should be part of how you choose. The full ingredient list of each type is not published, so ask for it if you have allergies or take regular medication.

Every session is planned as small, precise adjustments: the injection points are spaced across the pocket, and the amount follows the size of the area and the type chosen.

HaruFit is sold by volume. Each card below is the price of 10 cc of one type, on the face or on the body, and a session costs that unit multiplied by the volume your area takes. The body price per 10 cc is lower than the face price for every type, because body areas are larger and use more volume per session.

Listed figures exclude Korean VAT. Payment adds 10% on top, and each card also carries the VAT-inclusive amount so you can budget the real figure. For example, 10 cc of Green on the face is ₩250,000 before VAT and ₩275,000 with it.

Since the number of cc depends on the size of the pocket, the written quote is where the total appears. Ask for it to name the type, the area and the volume, so a repeat session four weeks later can be priced the same way.

Fat dissolving injections cause a controlled inflammation in the fat layer, so some reaction is part of how they work. The side effects reported for this kind of injection include:

• Swelling, redness and warmth over the injected area, which is most noticeable soon after the session.
• Bruising at the needle points.
• Tenderness, pain or a burning feeling during and after the injection.
• Firm lumps, nodules or areas of hardening (fibrosis) under the skin.
• Numbness or altered sensation in the treated skin.
• Under the jaw, rare weakness of the lower lip on smiling from irritation of a nearby nerve, and rare skin injury when solution reaches the skin layer.
• For Red, the known effects of a local steroid, such as thinning or lightening of the skin at the site.
• An uneven or partial result, with skin that looks looser if it was already lax.

The research on deoxycholic acid gives a balanced picture. A meta-analysis of randomized trials found the injection reduced fat under the chin yet carried higher rates of fibrosis, pain, swelling, nodules and sensory changes, rated the certainty of the evidence low to moderate and noted possible industry bias (Inocêncio, 2023). A systematic review of serious events stresses keeping the solution out of the skin layer and choosing surgery for jowls that sag (Shridharani, 2024). A further review describes self-resolving minor effects with rare severe ones, and calls for more safety data on areas outside the approved use (Pham, 2020). All of these studies test other products; HaruFit has not been compared with them.
